When are the worship services held?
There are two services Sunday morning held at 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Sunday School for all ages is at 9:15 a.m. Read more information on worship services and on Sunday School. How does your congregation typically dress for these services? The congregation tends to dress in business casual to business attire. Women in their teens to mid-thirties typically wear blouses and pants or skirts and sandals. Men in this same age group typically wear button down oxford-type shirts or collared shirts with khaki pants or dress pants and dress shoes. Women age forty and up often wear skirts, dresses, dress suits and high heels. Men in this same age group typically wear button down oxford type shirts and ties, suits or sport coats and dress pants. Jeans, tennis shoes, T-shirts and shorts are rare except at an evening service or special evening events. All activities during the week are casual. How long do the services typically last? The services usually last one hour, perhaps a bit longer on the first Sunday of each month when communion (Eucharist with bread and juice) is celebrated. What should I do with my children during services? We have many options available to you and your children and we honor your preferences. All children are welcome to remain with you throughout the services if you prefer. Clipboards for children with biblical color sheets and crayons are located at each entrance to the sanctuary. Additionally, your children are welcome in our nursery which is for infants through three year olds. The nursery is open from 8:15 a.m. to 12 p.m. The nursery is located in SONshine Island (back East building) Children ages three through third grade are invited to attend Kid's Worship which is dismissed around 10:45 a.m. from the Sanctuary during the 10:30 service. Kids Worship is held in the Holy Grounds Youth Building. Kids Worship does not meet on the first Sunday of each month to allow the opportunity for families to share communion together. Where do I park? Parking is available on both sides of the church and behind the church. Reserved parking for visitors is located on the east side of the church on the front row corner that borders Crossgates Drive and the front walkway up to the church doors. Where are you located and how do I get there? We are located at 23 Crossgates Drive in Brandon, Mississippi in the Crossgates Subdivision. A map and driving directions are available online. You may also call the church office at 825-8677 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday. and 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Fridays for directions. What is the style of the worship services? The style of worship is fairly traditional at the 10:30 a.m. service. The 8:30 a.m. service is a casual service in an informal atmosphere. Special Contemporary/Vesper services are offered frequently on Sunday evenings throughout the year as well. |
