How do you spell “exciting?” You spell it C O R Y! That’s Cory as in Phillips as in Crossgates UMC’s Director of Youth Ministry.
Cory offers a solid testimony of the work of God’s grace in his life in his ministry with youth in grades seven through twelve. Youth Ministry under Cory’s dynamic resourcing offers youth going through the maze of adolescence rich encounters with the scriptures, the tools for building lasting friendships, and activities that engage every youth’s talent and ability. He, also, is the drummer for the “3 X 5 Band” in the church’s alternative Sunday evening service.
When Cory is not working with youth, you will either find him at a soccer field playing soccer, watching soccer, or getting ready to play soccer. If you catch him at home, he will probably be watching soccer on television or on his laptop. He enjoys music, but did we mention he really likes soccer.
Cory spent his growing up years in Knoxville, Tennessee. He graduated from Mississippi College with a Bachelor’s degree in Bible and Religion. He became a staff member with Crossgates UMC in the Fall of 2010.
Cory and wife Abby live in the Crossgates area. Abby is a teacher at Brandon High School. Cory and Abby hang out with their adopted pup, Liam.
